OK, after reviewing my options and your feedback, I've decided to take one more crack at actually, you know, updating the site after all.

I *hope* to do a complete update of EVERY shootout (desktops and laptops) right after the upcoming (and, possibly, last) MacWorld Expo in about 2 weeks.

Watch this space, and wish me luck in finding the time to pull this off after all...

As you've probably noticed, the Shootouts site has been effectively dead for a solid year now. I kept regular updates for almost 9 years, but life is catching up with me.

I started an effort to completely overhaul/update it last spring, but I just haven't had the time; work + raising a kid has overwhelmed me in recent months.

I'll keep it around for awhile longer in case I find the time to do a proper update, but sooner or later I'm thinking it'll be time to either sell it off, or just pull the plug completely.

Any thoughts? Should I keep it as is until I find the time to do a real update; kill it off; or attempt to sell the domain and site to a worthy buyer? Feel free to write me at webmaster@systemshootouts.org with your thoughts.

I'm honored to announce that recently-defunct website MacMove.com has asked us to host their entire archive of articles about all things Apple- and Mac-related.

Keep watching this space; all-new Shootouts with latest offerings from Apple, Dell, HP and others are on the way!

In the meantime, all of the existing site content is still available!
